The Rules of the Board
01. How spots and prices work
When a spot opens, its price starts at the listed amount and drops on a fixed schedule until someone claims it. The first completed checkout gets the spot for 7 days.
Prices move automatically. There is no bidding, negotiation, or last-second extension.
02. Permitted Listings
We accept links to legitimate product websites, developer tools, SaaS applications, newsletter landing pages, and verified creator profiles. Identity is tied to the destination URL.
03. Prohibited Content (Banned Without Refund)
The following content is strictly prohibited:
- Adult content, pornography, and sexually explicit material.
- Gambling, online casinos, betting, and lotteries.
- Multi-level marketing (MLM), pyramid structures, and referral tier schemes.
- Direct chat invite links (Telegram channels, WhatsApp groups, Discord servers, Signal).
- Link shorteners, affiliate cloakers, and tracking redirects.
- Speculative cryptocurrency token pages, memecoins, presales, ICOs, airdrop farming, or yield/return guarantees.
Crypto software products (wallets, developer tools, analytics, node infrastructure) are permitted; asset positions and speculative coins are banned.
04. Screening & Post-Publication Review
Every destination URL and its accompanying copy are screened automatically before publication. Listings that breach section 03 are refused at checkout and no payment is taken.
Screening also flags listings that are not prohibited outright but carry signals we associate with phishing, malware, or brand impersonation — bare IP destinations, punycode or lookalike hostnames, direct binary downloads, seed-phrase and account-verification lures, and pirated-software copy. These placements go live immediately and are queued for manual review.
A live placement may be removed after publication. If review finds the destination violates section 03, misrepresents itself, or changes materially after purchase, the placement is terminated and the URL permanently blocked. Removal for a rules violation is without refund, as set out in section 05. If a placement is removed in error, we refund it in full.
Automated screening is a filter, not a warranty. SpotBoard does not endorse advertised products, and we do not publish the specific heuristics that trigger review.
05. Payments, Refunds & Disputes
All payments are processed securely via Dodo Payments (Merchant of Record). Because placements activate immediately and inventory is strictly scarce, all payments are final.
Violation of the prohibited content rules results in instant removal and permanent blocking of the URL without refund. The sole exception to finality is a placement we remove in error under section 04, which is refunded in full.
06. Performance Tracking
Clicks are routed through our edge redirect (/c/[campaignId]), which filters bot traffic, crawler hits and duplicate clicks. They are counted server-side, before the visitor reaches the advertiser, so an ad blocker cannot suppress one. Published clicks/day are genuine historical medians.
Visitors are counted once per day from a salted hash of address and user agent; the salt rotates every 24 hours, so the same person cannot be recognised across days. The board publishes clicks, visitors, and clicks per visitor. It does not measure how much of a spot was on screen, and it makes no viewability claim.
